Our 2007 Exhibition

Western D1072 - Expo 2007 Logo

Our 23rd Exhibition

was held on
Saturday & Sunday 20th/21st October 2007

at the
Uckfield Civic Centre
Civic Approach, Uckfield
East Sussex

The exhibition was another great success with fourteen layouts attending. There were twelve different scale/gauge combinations on show including those in 1:25 scale, 0, 0-16.5, S, P4, EM, 00, 00-9, H0, 3mm/ft scale, British N and Continental N. Something for everyone! Layouts traveled from as far away as Hampshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Surrey and Wiltshire, portraying British, American and European standard and narrow gauge prototypes.

Twelve members of the trade, including specialist manufacturers, had a presence at the show. Three of these were new to the event: Ayjay Models, Dart Castings and No Nonsense Kits. There was a display by the model engineers from the Bentley Miniature Railway as well as the popular demonstration stand, this year with guest demonstrators Tony Wright and David Bickerton.

The show was very successful, with many comments being received as to the high quality of the exhibits, the variety of trade goods on offer and the general friendliness of those taking part.

Throughout the weekend the visiting public was asked what layout they thought was the "Best in Show". The EM layout Westcliff constructed by Richard Butler, a member of South Hants Model Railway Club, picked up the most votes and he was presented with a special plaque for mounting on the layout.
