Expo 2011 Logo

Our 27th Exhibition

was held on
Saturday & Sunday
15th/16th October 2011

at the
Uckfield Civic Centre
Civic Approach, Uckfield
East Sussex

The 2011 exhibition was another great success with fourteen layouts attending. There were ten diverse scale/gauge combinations on show including those in 0, 0-16.5, 0-9, S, P4, 00, 00-9, H0, 3mm/ft finescale and British N. Once again something for everyone! Layouts traveled from as far away as Devon, East Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Lancashire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Surrey and Wiltshire portraying British and American broad, standard and narrow gauge prototypes.

The Weald Hall on the Saturday morning

Thirteen members of the trade, including specialist manufacturers, had a presence at the show. There was a display by the model engineers from the Bentley Miniature Railway as well as the popular demonstration stand, this year with guest demonstrators Barry Luck, who showed our visitors the art of 4mm/ft scale locomotive construction, and Jeff & Pete Day who brought along part of their new layout project based on the GWR station Sandford & Banwell.

The show was very successful, with many comments being received as to the high quality of the exhibits, the variety of trade goods on offer and the general friendliness of those taking part.

Throughout the weekend the visiting public was asked what layout they thought was the "Best in Show". The 4mm/ft scale 9mm gauge (00-9) layout Corris 1930 owned by Rod Allcock picked up the most votes and he was presented with a special plaque for mounting on the layout.
