Our 28th Exhibition

was held on
Saturday & Sunday
20th/21st October 2012

at the
Uckfield Civic Centre
Civic Approach, Uckfield
East Sussex

The 2012 exhibition was another great success with fourteen layouts attending. There were twelve diverse scale/gauge combinations on show including those in G-9, S7, 0, 0-16.5, S, P4, EM, 00, 00-9, H0, 2mm/ft scale and 2mm/ft finescale. Once again something for everyone! Layouts traveled from as far away as Devon, Kent, Middlesex, Norfolk, Nottinghamshire, Somerset, Surrey, West Sussex and Yorkshire portraying British, American, Italian & French standard and narrow gauge prototypes.

Twelve members of the trade, including specialist manufacturers, had a presence at the show. Unfortunately Plus Daughters had to pull out at the very last minute due to the whole family coming down with the flu the week before. There was a display by the model engineers from the Bentley Miniature Railway as well as the popular demonstration stand, this year with guest demonstrator David Bickerton, who brought along Mulberry Vale, his new layout under construction.

The show was very successful, with many comments being received as to the high quality of the exhibits, the variety of trade goods on offer and the general friendliness of those taking part.

Throughout the weekend the visiting public was asked what layout they thought was the "Best in Show". This year there there were two layouts that attracted the most votes. The 4mm/ft scale 9mm gauge (00-9) layout Crumley & Little Wickhill by the Hull Miniature Railway and the 2mm/ft scale layout Totnes constructed by John Birkett-Smith were both presented with a special plaque for mounting on the layout.
